Francis Bradley: A glimpse into the future of Canada's Electricity Sector

As President and CEO of The Canadian Electricity Association, Francis Bradley has clear and keen insight into the challenges and opportunities in the electricity sector today.

By Jessica DeLong, May 6, 2021

With nearly 35 years of experience with the national voice of the sector, Francis will be a featured speaker at the Saint John Energy Annual Community Update and General Meeting.

He will be sharing his thoughts on the drive to net zero, the state of the industry, the race to innovate and more.

The marketplace is shifting, he says, and the sector needs to adapt to new and disruptive technologies, customer preferences and more.

He will touch on four highly disruptive scenarios the sector could face in the next 20 years, each of them greatly impacting the way utilities in this country operate.

In addition to his leadership of the Canadian Electricity Association, Francis is the co-chair of the National Cross-Sector Forum, overseeing Canada’s Action Plan for Critical Infrastructure.

He holds positions on a number of other boards and councils, including the Energy Council of Canada and the Advisory Council to the Positive Energy Initiative at the University of Ottawa, and represents Canadian electricity utilities on the North American stage.

A frequent speaker, Francis was a co-author for the annual North American Electric Industry Outlook published jointly by the Washington International Energy Group and CEA.
